U.S. 42 (Mellwood Avenue and Story Avenue) Traffic Reconfigurations

Several segments along U.S. 42 have been identified as opportunities to improve safety and accessibility within Louisville. The below projects are coordinated to maximize operational flow and safety:

• Mellwood Avenue two-way Conversion from Frankfort Avenue to Brownsboro Road (completed)

• 05-9049 - Story Avenue two-way conversion from Main Street to Spring Street
  
  
• 05-9050 - Mellwood Avenue two-way conversion from Main Street to Spring Street
  
  

• 05-80342 – Story Avenue/Mellwood Avenue – TBD, identified but not funded

These projects will coordinate with other roadway projects in the area, including the Main Street and Story Avenue Intersection Project (05-758.00) and Main Remade. ​
