TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
By the end of the day on Thursday, July 30, Main Street between Wenzel Street and Second Street will be converted to its new two-way traffic configuration.

As part of this transition, most signalized intersections along the corridor will temporarily operate as all-way stops using stop signs while crews complete the activation of the new traffic signals. The intersection of Main Street and Second Street will remain signalized during this phase. 

The temporary all-way stop conditions will remain in place until the new traffic signals are fully activated. Additional information will be shared once the signal activation process is complete.

Temporary signs will be installed throughout the corridor to alert motorists of the new traffic pattern and stop-controlled intersections. Drivers should pay close attention to posted signage, obey all stop signs and other temporary traffic control devices, and use extra caution while traveling through the area.

As work on the final phase of the expansion joint replacement project on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge nears completion, contract crews will implement lane and ramp closures beginning Sunday, Aug. 2, to safely restore the bridge to its permanent traffic configuration. The project will preserve and extend the service life of this critical Ohio River crossing.
Beginning Sunday, Aug. 2, at 8 p.m., through 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, at 6 a.m.:

• The Court Avenue and 6th Street on-ramps to I-65 South in Jeffersonville, Indiana, will be closed.
• The right two lanes of the Kennedy Bridge and the I-65 South to I-64 West ramp will be closed. 

Beginning Friday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m., through Monday, Aug. 10, at 6 a.m.
(If inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances arise, contract crews will perform the below traffic control measures beginning Friday, Aug. 14, at 8 p.m., through Monday, Aug. 17, at 6 a.m.): 

• The right three lanes of the Kennedy Bridge will be closed. 

Motorists should heed signage, use caution, and plan for additional travel time. 

*The KY 1819 (Billtown Road) project is substantially complete with final items remaining. Lane closures and delays are possible while final items are underway.

Traffic Impacts: Lane closures and delays are possible.
Date/Time: Daily – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Project Limits: Three sections of KY 1819 (Billtown Road):

• Easum Road through Mary Dell Lane
• Michael Edward Drive through Fairground Road
• Shady Acres Lane through Colonnades Place

Type of Work: Reconstruction of KY 1819 (Billtown Road) from North of Colonnades Place to south of Easum Road with new traffic signals, signal optimization, turn lanes, storage lanes, etc. (varying by intersection based on existing conditions and future traffic projections).
Other Details: The reconstruction project is substantially complete with final punchlist items remaining.

Traffic Impacts: Alternating lane closures.
Date/Time:

• I-65 South between mile markers 116 and 117

• Daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 3, through Wednesday, Aug. 5
• I-65 North between mile markers 116 and 117
• Daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Thursday, Aug. 6, through Friday, Aug. 7, and on Monday, Aug. 10

Project Limits: I-65 between mile markers 116 and 117.
Type of Work: Routine bridge inspection.

*This weekend's closure is the last of the four scheduled weekend closures as part of the project.*
Traffic Impacts: Weekend closure of the bridge.

Date/Time: Beginning Friday, July 24, at 7 p.m., through Monday, July 27, at 5 a.m.

Project Limits: U.S. 60 (Capital Avenue) bridge over the Kentucky River.

Type of Work: Bridge maintenance project.

Detour: During the weekend closure, motorists should follow the signed detour route via KY 420 (Old Lawrenceburg Road, KY 676 (East-West Connector), KY 1659 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), and U.S. 60 (East Main Street) before reconnecting with U.S. 60 (Capital Avenue).

Other Details:  The approximately $925,000 project will include placement of a latex concrete overlay, bridge rail repairs, pier maintenance, and sidewalk repairs. The improvements are designed to preserve the structure and extend its service life. The bridge was originally constructed in 1938.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Overnight alternating lane closures will occur nightly from 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 14, on I-64 West between mile markers 53 and 58 (between U.S. 127 and U.S. 60). The overnight alternating lane closures are necessary for contract crews to perform asphalt paving operations. 
Traffic Impacts: Lane closures and traffic shifts, and delays are possible.
Date/Time: Daily/nightly beginning Thursday, Sept. 4.
Project Limits: I-64 East and West, between the Frankfort exits (mile markers 53 and 58).
Type of Work: The I-64 improvement project, between the Frankfort exits (mile markers 53 and 58), includes the milling and removal of the existing asphalt surface followed by resurfacing with new asphalt pavement. Other improvements to the 5-mile corridor include bridge repairs and bridge crash wall repairs.
Other Details:

• U.S. 60 (Versailles Road):
  U.S. 60 (Versailles Road) will be reduced to one lane in each direction under the I-64 overpass bridge nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 15, 2025.

**Overnight alternating lane closures will occur nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, July 6, through Tuesday, July 21, on I-64 East between mile markers 53 and 58 (between U.S. 127 and U.S. 60). The overnight alternating lane closures are necessary for contract crews to perform asphalt paving operations. 

Motorists are advised to follow all lane closure restrictions, use caution when traveling through the work zone, and plan for additional travel time.

Traffic Impacts: Lane closures are possible.

Date/Time: Daily/nightly.

Type of Work: Major infrastructure improvement project along KY 393, KY 146, and Allen Lane. The project includes reconstruction and realignment of KY 393 north of the I-71 interchange to KY 146 and Allen Lane from the Commerce Parkway/Ernie Harris Parkway intersection to KY 146, and the construction of two rail-over-road bridges to replace existing at-grade railroad crossings.

Additional improvements as part of the project include:
- Widening and reconstruction of KY 393, including expanded travel lanes and turn lanes
- Construction of a new KY 393 extension connecting to KY 146
- Widening and reconfiguration of Allen Lane from Commerce Parkway to KY 146
- Intersection improvements at Ernie Harris Parkway and Spring House Pike
- Addition of dedicated turn lanes at KY 146 and Allen Lane

Other Details: Motorists are encouraged to slow down, remain alert, and follow all work zone signage and flagging personnel. Drivers should also expect changing conditions throughout construction. Additional project information and traffic updates will be provided as work progresses.

Type of Work: Pavement striping.
Other Details: Motorists should provide plenty of space to crews displaying "WET PAINT" signage and be observant of slowed vehicles while traveling through the work zone.

Traffic Impacts: Lane closures and delays possible as part of a mobile operation.

Date/Time: Daily – 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Type of Work: Pavement striping.
