Wide Load Restriction on a portion of U.S. 25E will take place Tuesday, June 29 in Bell County

MANCHESTER, Ky. (June 23, 2021) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that a wide load restriction will be in place on a portion of U.S. 25E (both northbound and southbound lanes) from mile points 14.0 to 14.4  in Bell County on Tuesday, June 29 beginning at 1 a.m., and ending at 8 a.m.

The wide load restriction is necessary due to the ongoing concrete intersection project.

Due to the width of the concrete paver both the northbound and southbound slow lanes will be reduced to 9-feet during placement. Wide loads will be restricted during the mentioned work hours which could extend past 8 a.m. if the contractor has any delays.

The project is located at the intersection of U.S. 25E and KY 2015/Tennessee Avenue in Pineville. It consists of removing existing asphalt pavement and placing new concrete pavement.

U.S. 25E will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the duration of the project. Left turns will be restricted from U.S. 25E onto KY 2015/Tennessee Avenue and left turns will be restricted from KY 2015/Tennessee Avenue onto U.S. 25E.

KY 2015 traffic will be detoured for several weeks during this project. Currently, the KY 2015 detour is scheduled from Tuesday, July 6 to Monday, August 2, 2021. Traffic will be in normal operations for the July 4 holiday weekend.

The project is expected to conclude on Thursday, September 30.

KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
