Safety Assistance for Freeway Emergencies (SAFE) Patrol sponsored by State Farm is a free roadside assistance program to assist stranded motorists and improve highway safety when the unexpected occurs on major Kentucky interstates, parkways and prominent roadways. The SAFE Patrol operators do more than change tires, they also provide traffic control, emergency first aid, and can perform minor auto repairs. Since 2007, Safe Patrol operators have provided nearly 350,000 assists.

 What services does the SAFE Patrol sponsored by State Farm offer?

Operators assist motorists and offer the following free services: 
- Add air to tires or change flat tires
- Provide a "jump" for dead batteries
- Other minor automotive repairs
- Gasoline and oil for those in need
In addition, SAFE Patrol Operators perform these services: 
- Assist law enforcement by directing traffic
- Remove debris from the roadway
- Monitor infrastructure for suspicious activities
- Check and tag abandoned vehicles

How much does the service cost?

 The service is free of charge; however, if a tow truck is required, the motorist is responsible for payment. Tips are not accepted. 

What are the hours of operation?

 SAFE Patrol operates 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, 7 days a week.*
