Highway Safety Grant Submissions

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety (KOHS) is now accepting both Law and Non-law traffic safety grant applications for the 2018 Grant Year. The grant funding is supplied from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The KOHS is the grantee of the NHTSA grant funds and the funds are awarded to sub-grantees to reduce crashes, injuries, fatalities and associated cost by identifying transportation safety issues and developing and implementing effective integrated programs and activities.


Who can submit an application? Local and State Law Enforcement Agencies, Private institutions of higher education, and Non-law agencies such as health departments and Hospitals. Grants are reimbursement based upon the actual cost that have incurred and been paid by the grantee during the grant cycle.
