Jimmy Darrell Way in Perry County to be closed Dec. 4-8

JACKSON, KY – As part of the ongoing KY 15 widening project north of Hazard in Perry County, Jimmy Darrell Way near Bonnyman will be closed Dec. 4-8.

Jimmy Darrell Way is the short county-maintained connector road that runs beneath the KY 15 bridge, connecting to KY 267 at each end.

Drivers are reminded that no left turns are permitted at the intersection of KY 15 and KY 267. This junction is a “right in, right out” intersection. All KY 267 traffic coming north from Typo must turn right onto southbound KY 15. All KY 267 traffic coming south from the Blue Diamond/Harveyton area must turn right onto northbound KY 15. Left turns from both directions of KY 15 onto KY 267 are prohibited. These turn prohibitions will remain in effect during the closure of Jimmy Darrell Way and drivers should plan to use alternate routes to compensate for the closure.

Updated construction signage and electronic message boards will be used to guide motorists in this area. Law enforcement officers will also be present in the vicinity of the KY 15/KY 267 intersection. Jimmy Darrell Way will be blocked with barricades and barrels at both ends.
