Traffic Advisory: KY 32 repairs in eastern Nicholas County
Traffic impacts next two weeks

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (March 27, 2020) – Road repairs on KY 32 in eastern Nicholas County will impact traffic at several locations over the next two weeks.

Beginning Tuesday, March 31, state crews and contractors will work alongside KY 32 about a half mile east of Lake Road (mile marker 10) near Carlisle to drill and install steel T-rail to stabilize an embankment slip. The roadway will remain open, but motorists should expect possible delays and narrow lanes for three to four days.

Then, on Monday, April 6, crews will begin replacing several drainage pipes underneath KY 32 in the Pleasant Valley area that will require daytime road closures.

Work will take place on KY 32 between mile marker 16 near the Licking River bridge and mile marker 17 west of the Fleming Creek bridge. The road will be closed from about 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day where crews are working as they must cut through the roadway to replace pipes. The road will be barricaded at Abners Mill Road and Mexico Road, with only local traffic permitted past those points.

Road work and closures will continue for up to six days. Traffic between Flemingsburg and Carlisle may use KY 165 through Ewing, US 68, and KY 32 or KY 1455 (Lake Road), or local routes to detour.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
