Traffic Advisory: KY 32 closes May 20 at US 68 in Nicholas County
Detour using KY 36

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (May 10, 2019) – Contractors will close KY 32 at the Maysville Road (US 68) intersection in Nicholas County this month as part of the ongoing US 68 reconstruction project.

Beginning Monday, May 20, KY 32 will be closed at milepoint 6.6 at US 68 for about a month so crews can construct a new roadway where it connects to the larger highway project. Weather permitting, KY 32 should reopen about June 21.

During the closure, all KY 32 traffic should reroute using KY 36 nearby to connect to destinations between US 68 and downtown Carlisle. Signs and message boards will be posted.

The US 68 reconstruction project, which began in March 2018, is the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's $15.7 million effort to build a new, wider roadway between Millersburg and KY 1455 in Nicholas County. The project ties in with previous reconstructions of US 68 between Millersburg and Paris. The completion date for the project is June 2020.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
