Traffic Advisory: Bridge work this week, next in Greenup and Boyd counties
Daily lane closures, delays
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Oct. 18, 2018) – Motorists should watch for traffic changes at bridges on KY 2, KY 10, KY 7, KY 503 and US 23 in Boyd and Greenup counties over the next two weeks.
This week and weekend, contractors are cleaning, making joint repairs and performing other work on the following bridges: KY 2 over Tygarts Creek, KY 10 (AA Highway) over Tygarts Creek, KY 7 over White Oak Creek, KY 503 over the East Fork of the Little Sandy River, and US 23 over Tygarts Creek. Next week, work is planned for the US 23 over the Little Sandy River and US 23 over I-64 bridges.
During work, lane closures will occur on bridges with traffic control removed daily. Motorists should watch for flaggers, and expect delays.
The work is part of a 10-bridge, $672,840 repair contract that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet awarded in June to AAD Contracting Inc. (Bridge work on KY 3 over East Fork, KY 1 over East Fork, and KY 1 over the Little Sandy River has already been completed.)
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
