New KY 211 intersection being built at US 60 in Salt Lick
Part of $800,000 improvement project

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Aug. 13, 2018) – Contractors will begin reconstruction of the KY 211-US 60 intersection at Salt Lick in Bath County this week, the week of Aug. 13.

The work, part of an $800,000 Kentucky Transportation Cabinet highway safety improvement project, will shift the KY 211 intersection at US 60 in Salt Lick eastward several hundred feet, creating a new intersection and closing the existing one.

Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 14, contractors will place work zone signs along the project area on both US 60 and KY 211, and will begin construction. Motorists will encounter daily lane closures on US 60 through Salt Lick, with traffic flagged in one lane, about 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Motorists should expect heavy traffic and delays through the area until mid-October.

The project is being done under a $788,645.61 low-bid Transportation Cabinet contract awarded to the Walker Company of Kentucky Inc.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
