Traffic Advisory: Lane closures, detours on KY 168 in Pollard area for gas line work
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (July 20, 2018) – Motorists should expect road and lane closures on Blackburn Avenue (KY 168) in the Pollard area of Ashland in the coming weeks for utility work.
Columbia Gas of Kentucky has been granted a permit by the Kentucky Department of Highways to perform gas line repairs that require the open cutting of Blackburn Avenue.
Beginning Monday, July 23, crews will close Blackburn between Sanders Road and 6th Street during daytime working hours, approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for about the next three weeks. All lanes will reopen at the end of each work day, with no overnight traffic restrictions.
When the road is closed, all Blackburn Avenue traffic will be detoured using 6th Street, 12th Street (US 60) and Pollard Road. McGuire Street will remain open, with access from an alley off Barber Road.
Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
