Traffic Advisory: Pavement work next week on US 60, KY 1, I-64
Expect lane closures, delays

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (April 12, 2018) – Motorists should expect lane closures and flagged traffic on US 60 at Ashland, KY 1 in Greenup County and on I-64 in Bath County next week as contractors apply protective sealant to the highways.

In Bath County, crews expect to apply sealant to I-64 on Monday. Work will then move to Boyd County where crews will seal US 60 in Ashland between Rose Hill and Lexington Avenue downtown, weather permitting. On each highway, one lane will be closed where crews are working. Motorists should expect heavy traffic congestion and delays, especially in Ashland on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 17-18. Work on KY 1 in Greenup County will take place between the US 23 and KY 207 intersections and will require flagged traffic.

Pavement sealing operations reduce roadway cracking and extend the life of blacktop, and are part of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's preventative maintenance program.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
