Emergency funds awarded for repairs in Mason, Lewis, Carter counties
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2018) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that highway repair projects in Mason, Lewis and Carter counties have received $360,690 in Rural Secondary Emergency Funds.
In Mason County, $19,500 will be used for flood damage and storm debris removal costs on Germantown Road (KY 3056) along Lawrence Creek. This is a 25 percent match on a federal Natural Resources Conservation Service grant.
In Lewis County, $158,950 will be used for slide repair costs on KY 989 (Salt Lick Road) about 2.5 miles east of the KY 3310 intersection.
In Carter County, $182,240 will be used for slide repair costs on KY 773 at two locations near Mary Branch Road and on KY 2078 about a half mile north of the US 60 intersection.
"The Bevin administration is committed to the Cabinet's mission of providing a safe, reliable transportation network for all Kentuckians," said Transportation Secretary Greg Thomas. "These emergency funds will help local governments repair and restore damaged infrastructure throughout their communities."
All projects are state forces projects. The Kentucky Department of Highways is responsible for administering the work.
