Temporary closure of KY 434 in Bullitt County on December 19

Louisville, KY (Dec. 18, 2018) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the temporary closure of KY 434 (Coleburg Road) at the bridge over the Rolling Fork River near the Bullitt/Hardin County line (mile marker 0.0 to 0.3). KYTC maintenance staff will be performing some slope stabilization at the embankment slide on the north end of the bridge in Bullitt County.

KY 434 will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Motorists will need to detour this area via KY 61 to I-65 South to KY 313 (Joe Prather Highway) and then reconnect with KY 434.

This section of roadway, located approximately one mile south of Lebanon Junction, has been reduced to one lane since the summer with a temporary signal in place to direct traffic. Once work is completed on Wednesday, the roadway will return to that same traffic pattern until more extensive slide repairs can be performed next year.

This section of KY 434 carries approximately 575 vehicles per day.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.  Visit goky.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  You can also get traffic information for the District 5 counties at facebook.com/KYTCDistrict5 and twitter.com/KYTCDistrict5 .
