Interstate 264 ramp closures in Jefferson County to begin August 1
Louisville, KY (July 26, 2019) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists of upcoming ramp closures on Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) at KY 1932 (Breckenridge Lane) in Jefferson County. One ramp will be closed overnight, and another ramp will be closed for nine days.
The exit ramp from I-264 West to Breckenridge Lane North (Exit 18B) will be closed from 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 1 until 5 a.m. on Friday, August 2. Contract crews will be shifting traffic as part of the ramp widening work at this exit. Motorists will be detoured via I-264 West to Taylorsville Road South (Exit 17A), where they can turn left at the bottom of the ramp, access I-264 East and proceed to Breckenridge Lane North.
Also, the exit ramp from I-264 West to Breckenridge Lane South (Exit 18A) will be closed at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 2. This ramp will be closed for nine days to allow for the construction of an auxiliary lane on I-264 West between I-64 and Taylorsville Road. The ramp is scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, August 12. A signed detour will be in place via I-264 West to Taylorsville Road South (Exit 17A) to I-264 East where motorists can then access Breckenridge Lane South.
This work is part of a project for improvements to interchanges on I-264 at I-64 and Breckenridge Lane. Work began in June 2018 and is scheduled for completion in November 2019.
Hall Contracting of Kentucky Inc. was awarded this contract for $9.7 million.
