Interstate 71 ramp closure in Henry County on June 11-12

Louisville, KY (June 11, 2019) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a ramp closure tonight on Interstate 71 in Henry County. The entrance ramp from KY 153 to I-71 North in Pendleton will be closed for pavement base failure repairs. This work is being performed in advance of asphalt resurfacing that will occur in late June or early July.

The entrance ramp to I-71 North at KY 153 (Exit 28) will close this evening, Tuesday, June 11, at 7 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12. Motorists can should detour via I-71 South to KY 146 in LaGrange (Exit 22), turn onto KY 146 East, then access I-71 North.

This work is part of a $4.2 million project that includes drainage improvements, pavement base failure repairs, crack sealing, asphalt resurfacing and guardrail replacement. Louisville Paving Company, Inc. is the prime contractor. Construction is scheduled for completion in August 2019.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.  Visit goky.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  You can also get traffic information for the District 5 counties at facebook.com/KYTCDistrict5 and twitter.com/KYTCDistrict5 .
