Construction to begin on KY 76 realignment in Russell County
SOMERSET, Ky. (April 5, 2018) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) recently awarded a contract for the realignment of KY 76 (Font Hill) in Russell County. The project will realign a section of KY 76 at Font Hill as it intersects with KY 80.
Crews have begun mobilizing equipment and full construction operations should be underway next week.
Motorists are advised that speed limits along KY 76 and KY 80 have been reduced from 55 to 45 mph through this area. The first stages of work will require short stoppages to traffic as crews perform necessary grade work with traffic controlled by flaggers.
Prime contractor, ASL Excavating Inc. has 35 working days for project completion. The duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
