Blackburn Avenue repairs, paving project starting in Ashland
One-lane traffic, possible delays between US 60 and US 23
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (May 10, 2013) – Motorists should watch for traffic impacts on Blackburn Avenue (KY 168) at Ashland in the coming weeks as part of a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet resurfacing and repair project.
On Monday, May 13, contractors will begin work on handicapped-accessible sidewalk ramps. The following week, May 20-24, work is expected to start on milling and paving Blackburn Avenue from US 23 at Hoods Creek to 13th Street (US 60). Construction will take place during daytime work hours, approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During construction, Blackburn Avenue will be one lane at times, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Motorists should expect delays, especially during peak travel times, and should leave early to arrive at destinations on time.
Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, drive carefully in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
