Traffic diversion for US 60/Versailles Road scheduled
The US 60/Versailles Road Rehabilitation Project in Fayette and Woodford Counties
From the Martha Layne Collins Bluegrass Parkway to KY 4 (New Circle Road)
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 4, 2013) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that a traffic diversion will take place this evening for US 60/Versailles Road.  The traffic switch is necessary for Phase V of the project to begin.
  • Tuesday, June 4 at 8:00 p.m. - all traffic on US 60/Versailles Road will be shifted to the “old” eastbound lanes of the road.  All four lanes of traffic (two lanes in each direction) will be on the north side of the roadway after the traffic diversion has been completed.
Truck Traffic – trucks are required to travel in the left lane through the construction limits.
A reduced speed limit with double fines is in place for violations that occur within the work zone.
Alternate routes – motorists can utilize Interstate 64 and US 421 (Leestown Road)
Two lanes of US 60/Versailles Road in each direction are currently open and will remain open.
All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
