US 60/Lexington Avenue Roadway Rehabilitation

for Clark County

Mile Point 4.678 to Mile Point 6.675


LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 9, 2015) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that this advisory serves as an update for the US 60/Lexington Avenue project in Clark County.
  • work will continue this week constructing curb and gutter, entrances and sidewalk between Hays and Maple Streets
o   motorists should expect flaggers to be present in this section of the project
  • paving should be in progress today between Maryland Avenue and Breeze Hill Drive
  • a traffic diversion is tentatively planned for the evening of Thursday/June 11:
(this may occur on Friday/June 12 if delayed)
o   motorists will be shifted between Maryland Avenue and Breeze Hill Drive to the newly paved lane
o   traffic will be in the same configuration between these streets, but will be shifted to the south/left side of the roadway
o   eastbound/inbound traffic will still need to detour using the posted route of Interstate 64/Exit 96 or another alternate route
o   the temporary traffic signal that has been installed on Breeze Hill Drive will remain
  • after the traffic diversion is completed:
o   removal of pavement on the northern half of the roadway will begin
(this location is from just east of Maryland Avenue to Breeze Hill Drive)
All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
