KY 922 (Newtown Pike) update
Newtown Pike to open temporarily/suggested routes for motorists attending NCAA tournament games in Fayette County
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 20, 2013) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that work and lane closures will temporarily cease for a section of KY 922 (Newtown Pike).  The District 7 Office also suggests preferred routes for motorists attending NCAA tournament games in Rupp Arena, Lexington. 
  • Thursday, March 21 - the current construction project involving lane closures on KY 922 (Newtown Pike) will be suspended at approximately 10:00 a.m.
All lanes will be open on Newtown Pike between West Fourth Street and West Loudon Avenue through Monday, March 25.
Preferred routes are as follows:
  • motorists from the west and north should utilize Exit 115 to access downtown Lexington via KY 922 (Newtown Pike)
  • motorists from the south and east should utilize Exit 113 to access downtown Lexington via US 27/68 (Broadway)
Alternate routes in lieu of US 60/Versailles Road:
  • Motorists can utilize Interstate 64 and/or US 421 (Leestown Road)
