Update for lane closures on US 127 in Mercer County
Preventative Maintenance Research Applications
mile point 13.00 to mile point 14.5
McAfee Lane to Oregon Road (north and southbound)
LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 12, 2014) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that temporary lane closures will continue for a section of US 127 in Mercer County. 
The closures are necessary for preventative maintenance research applications to be completed.  Kentucky is a leading state for taking steps toward maintaining high traffic volume roadways.
As a part of this effort, 1500 feet of varied preventative maintenance treatments will be installed.  This project will assist with determining and matching pavement conditions in addition to other considerations for high traffic areas.
Work schedule and location:
Tuesday, August 12
6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Friday, August 15
6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 19
6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • one lane will be closed during the scheduled days and hours of work on US 127 between mile point 13.00 and 14.5 (McAfee Lane to Oregon Road/north and southbound)
Note:  the Dollar General Store is located at mile point 14.7
One lane will remain open at all times during the project.
All scheduled work is subject to change depending on the weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
