Lakeside Drive in Jackson to be closed for rockfall mitigation project beginning Tuesday, May 27
JACKSON, KY – Lakeside Drive (KY 3231) in Jackson will be closed indefinitely beginning Tuesday, May 27, as work begins on a $3.6 million rockfall mitigation project.
A signed detour has been established via Jett Drive and a temporary access route connecting the end of Jett Drive near the Kentucky River Medical Center with the end of Lakeside Drive.
In addition, some traffic pattern changes will be made on KY 15 in the vicinity of the work zone to accommodate blasting on the project. Some temporary road closures on KY 15 may be necessary as the work progresses. Drivers can check for traffic impact updates on the Department of Highways District 10’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Search for “KYTC District 10” on Facebook and “@KYTCDistrict10” on Twitter.
The contract for the rockfall mitigation project was awarded last September. The project is expected to be completed by late fall.
