Answer: KYTC is aware that there are a number of Utility Conflicts on this project and is actively coordinating with all utility companies impacted by the project. The Maintenance of Traffic phasing for the project was developed with these utility conflicts in mind. The phasing and milestone completion dates established in the plans allow for utility conflicts to be mitigated prior to each subsequent phase.  Therefore, KYTC will not consider extending all milestone completes dates or the overall completion date of the project.

Answer: No. The PVC Fold and Form Pipe Liner work shall be performed by a contractor or subcontractor prequalified in J13 – Rehab of Storm Drainage and Storm Sewers or I24 – Storm Drainage & Storm Sewer. The prime contractor may only self-perform this work if they hold one of these required prequalifications.

Answer: Both bid items are included because the excavated material is expected to be generally unsuitable for embankment construction. As a result, excess excavation material (Roadway Excavation) is anticipated, and fill material from outside the right-of-way limits (Embankment in Place) may be required to complete the project. Additional quantities have been included as described in Note 2 on plan sheet R2A.  Roadway Excavation and Embankment in Place will each be measured separately. Final payment for each bid item will be based on the quantities measured in the field and accepted by the Engineer.
