EAA Young Eagles Program
Launched in 1992, the Young Eagles program has dedicated more than 25 years to giving youth ages 8–17 their first free ride in an airplane. It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.
Many of Kentucky's airports offer this program. See the events above for times and locations.

Civil Air Patrol - Kentucky Wing
Aerospace Education - CAP's mission promotes aerospace, aviation, and STEM-related curricula, activities, and careers.
Cadet Programs - (Ages 12-18) Through their experiences as Civil Air Patrol cadets, young people develop into responsible citizens and become tomorrow's leaders as well as experience the joy of flight. 
Emergency Services - A national community service organization made up of professionally trained civilian volunteers, including pilots. CAP has a modern, well‐equipped fleet of aircraft, vehicles, and equipment that is exercised and utilized daily.

Eastern Kentucky University 
EKU Aviation provides the aerospace industry with the best trained and safest professional pilots and the most forward-thinking managers coming out of academia today.

The Bachelor of Science degree has concentrations in Professional Flight, Aerospace Management, and Aerospace Technology.

Morehead State University
The Bachelor of Science in Space Systems Engineering degree at Morehead State is one of the nation's few space systems engineering programs. 

The B.S. in Space Systems Engineering is an aerospace engineering program focusing exclusively on astronautical engineering- spacecraft and space systems engineering.

Aerospace engineering certificate program:
The purpose of the aerospace engineering certificate program is to give students a formalized recognition of an emphasis in aerospace engineering subjects as part of their engineering undergraduate degree program. In addition, this certificate program will increase the state-wide and nation-wide recognition of the UK’s involvement in aerospace education and research.

​High School Programs

Danville and Boyle County High Schools 
Aviation curricula are now available for high school students in participating schools in Boyd county. The aviation STEM courses, produced by AOPA and provided to the high schools for free, introduce students to aerospace careers and, if continued for the entire four years, prepare students for either the private pilot or commercial UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) written test.
