Title
The Purchas Area Aviators, EAA Chapter 807 hosting a fly-in
Location
Mayfield/Graves County Airport
Start Time
10/19/2019 5:00 PM
End Time
10/20/2019 3:00 PM
Description
Our event is going to be a little bit different than most fly-in activities a because this will be an evening fly-in. By hosting this event we are encouraging the aviation community to stay proficient with their nighttime flying skills and we're having a little bit of fun at the same time. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and we will continue dinner services through 8 p.m. so that anyone who gets there later will still have plenty to eat. Dinner will be a chili supper with all the fixings. Our suggested donation is $5 per meal but, that's just a suggestion. We certainly wouldn't want to discourage anyone from donating more. At 7 p.m. we will begin showing a movie on the hanger wall. Our movie selection will be aviation-themed and will likely be a double feature. Afterwards we will invite everyone to camp out on the lawn. We hope the weather will be great for a campfire and s'mores. This will be an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in aviation to listen to stories, and tell stories about their aviation experiences that will no doubt be educational and entertaining for other pilots or aviation enthusiasts. . On Sunday morning we will feature a pancake breakfast. EAA chapters from around the country are known for their pancake cooking acumen. We invite everyone to not only come out for dinner but also come back for breakfast whether or not you camp out with us. We suggest a $5 donation for breakfast as well. We want to make it especially clear that everyone is invited to this event whether or not they have an airplane, or even have an interest in aviation. Our goal as an EAA chapter is to share the spirit of aviation. We all have the opportunity to experience aviation in our own ways. Some of us will only ever experience it as a passenger or maybe even as an onlooker while airplanes take off and land but we want to make sure that everyone knows what opportunities exists and that those opportunities are within reach. If you have any further questions please let me know. You can email me back here or my cell phone is 270-994-9966.
