The I-64 Sherman Minton Bridge reoped to traffic on February 17, 2012 after being closed for over five months.  The bridge was closed on September 9, 2011 following discovery of a crack in a critical location. A recommended traffic plan has been created to help motorists navigate around the closure while the bridge undergoes testing and repairs.
