ENGINEERING
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will award scholarships
to qualified Kentucky residents who wish to study Civil Engineering at:
- University of Kentucky - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
(BSCE)
- Kentucky State University (pre-engineering)*
- Western Kentucky University - Bachelor's degree in Civil
Engineering
- University of Louisville - BSCE & Masters in Engineering
(MEng)
*May attend for 3 years, then finish BSCE at UK (2 additional
years)
Qualifications
- graduate of an accredited
Kentucky high school / high school graduates who are Kentucky residents
- meet the admission requirements
of the University of choice
- ACT of 24 or higher
Conditions of the Scholarship
- Stipend amounts are based
on classification:
- $4,400 for Freshman/Sophomore
per semester
- $4,800 for Junior/Senior
per semester
- maintain a minimum
cumulative GPA of 2.500 (on a 4.0 scale)
maintain full-time status
(12 hr/semester)
- finish 30 hours by the
end of each school year
- contractual agreement
to work full time for the Cabinet upon graduation, one full year for each
year on scholarship
Application
Process
- Please note that applicants must
also apply to the admissions office of their chosen college. The scholarship
application must be submitted by March 1st
to the address listed on the application, along with the following supplemental
documents:

Summer
Employment
- Provided that reasonable academic progress is made and Cabinet
budget allows, summer employment will be offered to scholarship students from
May 16th - August 15th at the following rates*:
