2009-03 - Hardin Co. - I 65/KY 222 Interchange - Item No. 4-20.00

QUESTION:  Can we obtain the minutes from the Preliminary Line and Grade meeting and the Maintenance of Traffic notes?

ANSWER: Minutes are available for the PL&G inspection as well as two supplemental project team meetings to flesh out service ramp details and KY 222/US 31W intersection treatments.  A Roundabout approval memo is also available. See links below.
KYTC does not have any information regarding Maintenance of Traffic notes to share at this time .  This is almost entirely on new alignment, so MOT should be relatively straight forward except for the new bridge over I-65.

2009-03 - Campbell Co. I-275 - Combs-Hehl Bridge

QUESTION:  There is a prequalification requirement for a "Licensed Structural Engineer in Kentucky ". I emailed the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors asking if Kentucky offers an official Structural Engineer (SE) licensure, David Cox's response was "We do not since we do not license by discipline. However, an engineer can only practice in his or her areas of competence". Please clarify this prequalification requirement.

ANSWER: We are removing the requirement for "Licensed Structural Engineer in Kentucky " listed under prequalification.  Firms responding must be prequalified with KYTC for Structure Design for Spans of 500'.  Responses should expand upon these qualifications as they relate to the specific structure being design or analyzed.
