NOTICE: Implementation of MAP-21 Uniform Act Benefit and Eligibility Changes (Mandatory Training)
KYTC will implement changes to the Uniform Act per MAP-21(Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act). The MAP-21 amended the maximum statutory benefit for replacement housing payments for displaced homeowners to $31,000 and replacement housing payments for displaced tenants to $7,200. The length of occupancy requirement for homeowners was reduced from 180 days to 90 days in occupancy before the initiation of negotiations. The MAP-21 also amended the maximum statutory benefit for business reestablishment benefits to $25,000, and the fixed payment for nonresidential moves to $40,000. By law, these changes become effective on October 1, 2014 at the Federal level. In hopes of moving forward KYTC will implement this process at the State level effective July 1, 2014.

NOTICE: Scope Verification Meetings
In accordance with the FHWA and KYTC Stewardship Plan, dated December 2012, a Scope Verification Meeting (SVM) will be conducted for all federal-aid projects requiring a Categorical Exclusion Level 3 (CE3), EA/FONSI or EIS to document appropriate consideration of environmental impacts. The purpose of the SVM is to gather key members of the Project Team, including FHWA, to assure that all members are in agreement with the work to be undertaken. Normally, the SVM will be conducted during the time between the advertisement for Professional Services and the Pre-Design Meeting. Timing of the meeting is important, to assure that all parties are in agreement with the scope of the work to be tasked to the consultant prior to the Pre-Design Meeting. This project requirement is effective immediately.
