Need Help Reading Our Maps?
Map Format

All of our maps are in .PDF format.  To view them, you must have Adobeİ Acrobatİ ReaderT version 4.0 or better installed.  If no Adobeİ window pops up when you click on one of our maps, you do not have the necessary plug-in.

Click here to download the Adobeİ Acrobatİ Reader 8.0T plug-in for free.

Viewing Maps

Because of slow connection speeds and large file sizes, our maps will sometimes appear different for some users than others (e.g. missing north arrow, missing road labels, blank screen).  This problem can be solved by simply saving the map to your hard drive (see below) and re-opening the map from there.

Saving Maps To Your Hard Drive

There are two ways to do this:

       1.  Before the map is open, right-click its link and select "SAVE TARGET AS".
       2.  If map is already open, click button as shown below.

PRINTING A SPECIFIC REGION OF A MAP:

To print only a small portion of a map onto letter-sized paper, first zoom/pan so that what you see is what you want to print.  While holding down the ALT key, press the PRINT SCRN key.  This copies the active window and its contents to MS Windows' clipboard.  Open MS Word or any graphics utility program, then select FILE/NEW, then EDIT/PASTE and finally FILE/PRINT.

PRINTING ENTIRE EXTENT OF A MAP:

Because of the large amount of information contained in most of our maps, we suggest that you print on paper no smaller than TABLOID size; however, even on tabloid paper, most of the maps will be too condensed to be read legibly.

If you have access to a plotter with at least 36" paper, you can print our maps at their true size or larger.  After you have opened the map, click FILE/PRINT in the Adobe Reader window.
