AThe
Office of Inspector General (OIG) was created to
promote integrity, accountability, and efficiency
within the Transportation Cabinet by investigating
reports of waste, fraud, and abuse. Investigations
conducted by OIG staff include examining specific
allegations, reports, or other information indicatingpossible violation of law or regulation. Findings
of criminal violation are taken before state or
federal judicial authorities for prosecution. |

AEmployees of the
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), as well
as employees of other state and federal agencies
and the general public are encouraged to report
suspected wrongdoings occurring within the Cabinet
to the OIG.
Suspected
wrongdoings may include:

and procurement fraud
AAAAFalse claims
AAAABribery or solicitation
of bribes
AAAASolicitation or
acceptance of illegal gratuities
AAAAKickbacks
AAAAHealth, safety,
or environmental violations
AAAAEthical violations
or conflicts of interest
AAAATheft or misuse
of government property
AAAARetaliation for
whistleblower complaints
AAAAAny type of corruption,
fraud, waste and abuse involving KYTC employees
Tips for filing a complaint
AAAAAlthough
you may wish to remain anonymous, the OIG encourages
you to provide sufficient contact information. Kentucky
statutes provide protection to employees who, in
good faith, report suspected wrongdoing related
to an actual or suspected violation of the law,
statute, executive order, administrative regulation,
mandate, rule, or ordinance, or any facts or information
relative to actual or suspected mismanagement, waste,
fraud, abuse of authority, or a substantial and
specific danger to public health or safety. (KRS
61.102)
