Office of Project Development
The
Office of Project Development is responsible for
projects in the development phase, including plannig, bridge
and highway design, environmental components,
consultant prequalification and selection, right
of way acquisition, and utility relocation. Within
the office are five divisions:
The
Office of Project Delivery is responsible for
formulating and implementing all construction
phases of highway projects, as well as maintenance,
traffic control, and equipment utilization for
Kentucky's highways. Within the office, there
are three divisions:
The
Office of System Preservation and Operations is
responsible for maintaining and operating the
existing state highway system. Maintaining the
system involves performing routine maintenance
on pavements, bridges, and the roadside and gathering
data to identify more costly pavement and bridge
preservation needs. Operating the system involves
using a wide variety of traffic control technologies
to move traffic and gathering data to identify
highway safety improvement needs.
