Transition Control Names
| --What is a transition control name? Transition control
(TC) names are names assigned to the outer endpoint of a template
segment (the endpoint farthest from the centerline).
For example, if you add a segment with TC name eprt (Edge of
Pavement Right), the endpoint of that segment that is farthest
from the centerline is identified as eprt. |

|
Transition control names serve three basic purposes:
Click on the TC name capability above for a description.
|
| TC names are designated in the Edit Template palette (Design
Roadway> Define Template> Edit Template). To assign a
transition control name to an endpoint, key in the desired name
or select it from the list box and the exterior point of the
active segment will be given that name. To assign no transition
control name for a segment point, be sure TC Name is set to Uncontrolled.
By default, points on a template are not assigned transition
control names; they are instead assigned the label Uncontrolled.
|
| Each template library comes with a list of default TC names.
The Define Template> Settings> Transition allows you
to add, delete, edit, and control the display of transition
control names. Note: The transition control name Centerline
is reserved specifically to represent the centerline point on the
template. You cannot edit any of the 12 default names.
