Inroads FAQ - Edit Template
| Q. What is the difference between the Global
and Local Edit modes in the Edit Template box? |
|
|
A. Both of these modes are applicable when editing a
segment of your template. The Global and Local Edit
modes both change the active segment to the new input length
and/or slope. The difference between the modes lies in how the
segments outside . outside (away from the centerline) the
active are treated. The Global Edit Mode does not change
the length and slope of any of the outside segments; it
repositions all segments outside the active. The Local Edit
mode changes the active segment and the adjacent outer segment;
all other segments do not change. Local Edit makes the
adjacent outer segment begin at the new active segment endpoint
but keep its original endpoint. Note: The Add After
and Add Before modes are used to insert new segments. After
adds a new segment next to and outside the active segment. Before
adds a new segment next to and inside (closer to the centerline)
the active segment. |
