Independent Control
| Transition control names allow you to define a control path to
a point on the template so that the point moves independent of
the centerline. By default, all template points move relative to
the active horizontal and vertical alignments. However, by
assigning a unique transition control name to a specific point on
a template, you can associate independent horizontal and vertical
controls to the point. The roadway modeler will then use these
controls, rather than the active alignment, to determine the
placement of that template point along the corridor. The result
is that you can control a local part of a template while the rest
of the template follows the centerline. |
Workflow for Independent Controls
- 1. Define the TC names you plan to use on your templates.
2.
Assign those TC names to specific points on your
templates.
3. Attach independent alignments (or slope-and-grade
controls) to those points. See the section Attaching
Independent Controls to a Template, below, for more
information.
4. Define the necessary fixity for segments in the
template(s). See Edit Template , for more information on
defining fixity for template segments.
