SUBJECT:                               CADD STANDARDS FOR HIGHWAY PLANS

 

The Transportation Cabinet is moving towards the electronic publication of Highway Plans. This electronic publication requires the utilization of CADD standards. The attached document is intended to establish the required standards for all electronic files representing submittals of Highway Plans. The primary goal of these standards is to insure the best possible use of these files in the review, publication, and construction processes.

All engineering drawings included in the "bid set" are to comply with the CADD standards. It must be stressed that while these standards are to be applied to the deliverable files for Final Plans and Right of Way Plans, they are not intended to dictate a particular workflow for complying with these standards. Nor should they be used to restrict the utility of plans submitted for inspections or interim reviews.

All NEW project starts with a construction letting after July 2000 shall comply with the CADD standards. The Project Team shall decide whether to convert current projects with consideration to project schedule.
