SUBJECT:                               Apparent Shrinkage and Swell Factors

As shown on the attached sheet, provide a note on all projects that the apparent shrinkage and swell factors are used only by design for estimating earthwork calculations. A more accurate factor should be used for construction.

Central Office Plan Processing Section will add this note on all projects for which final plans have already been submitted effective with the August letting. All final plans that have not yet been submitted shall have the note added by the designer.
