Dear HEEP Member, Associates, and Friends:

For those of you who are not familiar with the Highway Engineering Exchange Program, HEEP is an international organization which promotes the exchange of information relating to highway and bridge engineering. Specifically addressed is the use of computers in the engineering process. AREA II is made up of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Kentucky is honored to host the 2006 HEEP Area II Annual Conference. This year’s conference will be held June 11 through June 14, 2006 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Hyatt Regency on West Jefferson Street. Registration will begin in February. Plans are under way for an exciting conference with seminars/information sessions and a tour of the UPS World Port. We will be sending a registration packet soon which will contain more information concerning the activities planned.

This is a preliminary letter to distribute information and have a “Call for Presentations”. Anyone interested in being on the program please fill out the attached form. We are interested in presentations in the areas of IT Project Management, Web Applications, PDA/Wireless Applications, Document Management, Project Delivery Applications, Visualization, CADD/Engineering Applications, Engineering Design Applications, Asset Management, Maintenance Decision Systems, GIS, or ITS. Please feel free to submit a presentation on another topic of interest if you so choose.

HEEP will also have a vendor demonstration area. Anyone interested in having space in this area please contact Marcie Fisher at marcie@kyengcenter.org as soon as possible to obtain information and make reservations.
