Deck restoration, waterproofing, painting work being done
FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 16, 2014) – More than $1.1 million in bridge repair projects were awarded to contract recently by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The four projects, awarded in three contracts in three counties across the state, include:
· Greenup County – Deck restoration and waterproofing for a bridge over Culp Creek on Industrial Parkway (KY 67). M&M Services Co. was awarded the contract for $230,410. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2014.
· Nelson County – Deck restoration and waterproofing for a bridge on U.S. 31E over Bluegrass Parkway at mile point 20.4. M&M Services Co. was awarded the contract for $261,859. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2014.
· Nelson and Washington counties – Two bridge painting and cleaning projects including a bridge in Nelson County on Nelsonville Road (KY 52) over Beech Fork River and a bridge in Washington County on the Bluegrass Parkway at mile point 42 over Chaplin River. 300 Industrial LLC was awarded the contract for $659,000. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2014.
“Bridges often represent a significant public investment,” Kentucky Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock said. “Protecting that investment requires regular maintenance, repair and upkeep. Bridge maintenance is one of the ways in which we carry out our mission to provide a safe and reliable transportation system.”
