Civil Engineering Scholarship Program
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet awards 10-20 new Scholarships each year to qualifying students who are interested in attending the University of Kentucky (UK) or Western Kentucky University (WKU) or University of Louisville (U of L) J. B. Speed School of Engineering to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).   Students may also attend pre-engineering courses at Kentucky State University (KSU) or through the Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) system and finish their Bachelors of Science in civil Engineering (BSCE) at one of the accredited institutions.
 
This program began in 1948, and the KYTC has awarded nearly 1,700 scholarships, amounting to over $12 million in scholarships since its beginning.  We now have 80 scholarship openings each year that are filled with returning students and new students.  This scholarship can be worth up to $44,000!

Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship Program
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet started the Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship Program in 2009.  5-10 new scholarships are awarded for students to attend Bluegrass Community & Technical College in Lexington, KY  and Big Sandy Community & Technical College in Prestonsburg, KY.  The Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS) has worked with KYTC to develop a program that will prepare students for work upon graduation with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.  The scholarship deadline is March 1st and the recipients will be notified by April 1st.   Each scholarship student will receive $2500 per semester to complete an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology form either of the KCTCS campuses.
