Civil Engineering Scholarship Program
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet awards 10-20 new scholarships each year to qualifying students interested in attending the University of Kentucky (UK) or Western Kentucky University (WKU) or University of Louisville (UL) J. B. Speed School of Engineering to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).   Students may also attend pre-engineering courses at Kentucky State University (KSU) or through the Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) system and complete their Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) at one of the accredited institutions.
 
This program began in 1948, and the Cabinet has awarded nearly 1,700 scholarships, amounting to more than $12 million in scholarships since its beginning.  The Cabinet now has 80 scholarship openings each year that are filled with returning students and new students.  The scholarship can be worth up to $44,000!
 
Deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 1.

Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship Program
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet awards 5-10 new scholarships each year to qualifying students interested in attending Bluegrass Community & Technical College in Lexington, Kentucky,  or Big Sandy Community & Technical College in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to complete an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. The Cabinet began the Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship Program in 2009 and has worked with the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS) to develop a program that will prepare students for work with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet upon graduation .  The scholarship deadline is March 1, and the recipients will be notified by April 1.   Each scholarship student will receive $2,500 per semester from either of the KCTCS campuses.
