Repairs to temporarily close US 68 off ramp at AA Highway
Detour in effect for about three weeks
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Nov. 15, 2013) – Contractors will temporarily close the East US 68 Maysville off ramp (KY 9 South exit) at the AA Highway interchange next week for embankment repairs.
The work will require a detour for all eastbound (toward Ohio) US 68-to-Maysville traffic beginning as early as Tuesday or Wednesday, and will continue for about three weeks or until repairs are complete. Signs and message boards will mark the detour route:
·         All eastbound US 68 traffic going to Maysville – that is motorists traveling the new US 68 from the Washington intersection toward Ohio that would normally take the KY 9 South exit – must continue on US 68, cross the AA Highway overpass and exit right onto the KY 9 North off ramp. That ramp will be remarked to allow traffic to either turn right (north) on KY 9 toward Cincinnati or left (south) on KY 9 toward Maysville. Motorists should follow all detour signs, slow down and watch for changing traffic patterns.
All other traffic – westbound US 68 motorists coming from the William Harsha Bridge or exiting US 68 to the AA Highway and Downing Drive or KY 9 to Maysville, as well as motorists using the interchange on ramps – will be unaffected.
Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, “Drive Smart” in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
