Road work scheduled for KY 3, US 23 and US 60 in Boyd County
Motorists should watch for traffic changes
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – Motorists should expect traffic changes as paving begins along KY 3 in rural Boyd County and sidewalk ramp work continues along Winchester Avenue (US 23) and 13th Street (US 60) in downtown Ashland.
By Tuesday, July 16, contractors will be paving eight miles of KY 3 from its intersection with KY 180 to the Lawrence County line as part of an $868,620.60 Transportation Cabinet improvement project. (This work was rescheduled from earlier this month.) Motorists should expect one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers, and should be prepared for delays, for approximately two weeks.
On Winchester Avenue and 13th Streets in Ashland, contractors are continuing to install handicapped-accessible sidewalk ramps at intersections – part of a $1.88 million Kentucky Transportation Cabinet project that includes resurfacing 1.8 miles of US 23 and 2.8 miles of US 60 (13th Street) in Ashland later this summer. The work is taking place at night, Monday through Saturday each week for the next three weeks. Only minor traffic impacts, including intermittent roadway lane restrictions and sidewalk closures, are expected on those streets.
In all work zones, motorists and pedestrians should heed all warning signs and proceed carefully near construction workers and equipment. Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
