FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – Contractors will close part of Valley View Road (KY 168) in Boyd County next week as major work begins on the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s $437,000 replacement of the Keyes Creek bridge.
Beginning Tuesday, May 28, the road will close to all through traffic at the work site. Motorists may detour using US 23, US 60, KY 3294, KY 538 or other routes.
During the closure, the bridge will be removed and a new pre-fabricated concrete bridge will be installed. Work is expected to take approximately a month to complete, dependent upon weather; and is being done under contract with ASL Excavating.
Motorists are reminded that construction is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists should heed all warning signs, drive carefully in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
