Traffic Advisory: Work requires daytime closure of KY 2 in Greenup County April 15-19; KY 989 in Lewis County April 15-16
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – Culvert replacements and other repairs will require daytime closures of KY 2 in Greenup County next week, April 15-19. And, crews in Lewis County will close KY 989 in Lewis County for two days next week to make slide repairs.
In Greenup County, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 15, the Kentucky Department of Highways will close KY 2 between US 23 at Greenup to W Hollow (KY 2433) to all through traffic. The closures will continue Monday through Friday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The closures are necessary so crews can open cut the road to replace culverts and repair the roadside, which will prepare KY 2 for resurfacing later this year.
In Lewis County, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, highway crews will close KY 989 between Nashtown Hollow and KY 3310 (mile markers 4-5) until 5 p.m. for all traffic. The road will be closed again Tuesday, April 16, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the closures, motorists may be detour using KY 1237 and KY 3310 as alternate routes.
Motorists should remember that road work schedules are dependent upon weather conditions, and should heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
