Initial public meeting scheduled for KY 7 improvements in Elliott and Morgan Counties
Thursday, Aug. 14, at Elliott County High School
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2014) – Local residents and users of KY 7 in Elliott and Morgan counties will get their first look this month at Transportation Cabinet plans to improve 10 miles of the eastern Kentucky highway.
An initial public meeting for the proposed reconstruction of KY 7 from the southern city limits of Sandy Hook to the KY 711 intersection at Wrigley in Morgan County will take place 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Elliott County High School in Sandy Hook.
The meeting will be an open house with no formal presentations. The public may come any time during the scheduled two hours to find out more about the project – which is in the early design phase – to ask questions, and to talk with state highway engineers and consultants about what changes would make KY 7 a better and safer roadway.
Maps of the project area, a handout and comment forms will be available. Residents and roadway users are encouraged to attend and share information such as crash locations, potential problem areas and ways they think the roadway can be improved.
Information gathered at the meeting, and for 15 days afterward, will be used to make future project decisions. For more information, or to make comments, write to Department of Highways District 9, P.O. Box 347, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041, or call toll-free (800) 817-2551.
