KY 914 in Pulaski County to become four-lane highway
Work to begin next week, expect delays
SOMERSET, Ky. (May 9, 2014) – Construction to widen Somerset Southeast Bypass on KY 914 in Pulaski County is expected to begin Monday, May 12.
The $15.5 million project will construct dual left turn lanes from westbound KY 80 onto KY 914 and the widening of KY 914 to four lanes between mile points 9.65 and 13.301.
Tree and brush removal began in April. Starting next week traffic will be slowed with occasional stopped traffic as crews begin blasting. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destination.
Hinkle Contracting Company, LLC was awarded the contract, which has a completion date of Aug. 1, 2015. The starting date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
