Portion of I-75 in Rockcastle County reduced to one lane beginning Wednesday, June 12
Speed limits to be reduced and double fines to be in place
SOMERSET, Ky. (June 10, 2013) – Beginning Wednesday, June 12, I-75 in Rockcastle County will be reduced to one lane from mile point64 to mile point 69 as crews install median cable barriers.
Each week, until the project is complete, the lane closures will be in place from 6pm Sunday through 10am Friday. All lanes will be open for weekend traffic.
Speed limits will be reduced from 70 to 55 mph through the work zone and double fines will be in effect.
Work is scheduled to be completed in Rockcastle County by mid July, however work will continue along I-75 through Whitley County. The duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destinations.
