LEXINGTON, Ky. (February 25, 2013) — A project to widen a section of Newtown Pike (KY 922) in Fayette County to five lanes in anticipation of the new
Bluegrass Community and Technical College campus has been awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The $3 million project involves widening Newtown Pike from West Fourth Street to West Loudon Avenue to improve safety, operations and access for the new campus scheduled to open this fall at the old Eastern State Hospital property.

The contract, which has a completion date of Dec. 15, 2013, was awarded to Bluegrass Contracting Corp. for $3,022,078.
