Lane closures scheduled for I-75 in Fayette County
Part of the Interstate 75 Rehabilitation Project
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 26, 2013) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that temporary lane closures are scheduled for Interstate 75 in Fayette County. The closures are necessary for the roadway rehabilitation project to continue.
Work will be performed:
- Monday, April 29 at 8:00 a.m. – the southbound left lane will close and remain closed until 8:00 p.m.
- Monday, April 29 at 8:00 p.m. – the southbound right lane will close and a traffic diversion will take place (law enforcement will be assisting with the traffic switch)
I-75 will be reduced to two lanes from MP 108 (Man O War Boulevard) to MP 104 (Athens Boonesboro Road) until further notice.
The speed limit will be 55 MPH with double fines for violations that occur within the work zone.
All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the work area.
